Young alumni – those who graduated within the past 10 years – bring fresh ideas, energy and perspective to the Anteater community. The council helps turn that passion into programs, connections and lasting impact.
To serve as a bridge between recent graduates and UC Irvine by creating pathways for engagement that foster lifelong Anteater pride.
The Young Alumni Council is made up of UC Irvine graduates who are committed to strengthening the young alumni community. Members are selected for their leadership, experience and dedication to advancing the mission of the UC Irvine Alumni Association.
Council members serve as ambassadors for UC Irvine, helping develop programs, foster connections and represent the voice of young alumni.
Member Selection Process
Young alumni who are passionate about leadership, community-building and supporting fellow Anteaters are encouraged to apply.
Young Alumni Council (YAC) members attend bi-monthly meetings, serve on a subcommittee and participate in an annual retreat. They also lead and support alumni initiatives focused on mentorship, professional development and Anteater pride.
As ambassadors for UC Irvine and the UC Irvine Alumni Association, council members gain access to exclusive events and opportunities to engage with the broader alumni community. Members serve a two-year term, with the option to renew for a second.
