A multi-year fellowship supporting UC Irvine doctoral students who exemplify innovation, leadership and academic excellence.
The Dan and Jean Aldrich Fellowship honors UC Irvine’s founding couple by supporting doctoral students who demonstrate exceptional leadership, innovation, and academic achievement. This fellowship is awarded annually to a UC Irvine alumnus or alumna pursuing a Ph.D. and reflects a commitment to advancing scholarship and impact through higher education.
The fellowship provides a total award of $3,000 for the 2025–26 academic year, with a minimum annual award of $2,000 for future academic years. The award is issued annually to one student for the duration of their Ph.D. pursuit, provided they remain in good academic standing at UC Irvine.
Applicants must follow all directions carefully and submit a complete application with required attachments. All documents must be submitted on standard 8.5 x 11” paper, single‑sided and unstapled. Unofficial transcripts are acceptable if the applicant’s name appears in print. Late or incomplete applications will not be considered, and submitted applications may not be amended. No exceptions will be made for materials submitted after the deadline.
Award notifications are released each fall.
