As an exhausted film crew races through magic hour to finish an artsy action blockbuster in the New Mexico desert, artistic ambition, Hollywood pressures and environmental realities collide. A darkly comic “play in six takes,” Continuity explores the power – and limits – of storytelling in a world facing an ecological crisis.

Extending those questions beyond the stage, this UC Irvine production explores a more sustainable future for the performing arts. Inspired by initiatives such as the Broadway Green Alliance, the creative team will incorporate environmentally conscious production practices, from solar power to 100% recycled materials, with the goal of creating an “environmentally neutral” production that minimizes its overall impact.
