UC Irvine Alumni Association Endowed Scholarship

An invitation-only scholarship recognizing incoming UC Irvine undergraduate students who demonstrate academic excellence, community service and leadership potential.

SUPPORTING ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE AND LEADERSHIP

The UC Irvine Alumni Association Endowed Scholarship recognizes incoming undergraduates with strong academics, service and leadership. This selective award reflects the Association’s commitment to supporting students who will positively impact the campus community.

INCOMING FRESHMEN

Freshman Scholarship

Endowed Freshman Awards provide up to $10,000, distributed over a maximum of four academic years, to support outstanding incoming freshmen as they begin their UC Irvine journey. Applications open in late spring 2027.

INCOMING TRANSFERS

Transfer Scholarship

Endowed Transfer Awards provide up to $5,000, distributed over a maximum of two academic years, to recognize exceptional transfer students entering UC Irvine. Applications open in late spring 2027.

ADDITIONAL SUPPORT

Book Scholarships
Book scholarships ranging from $500 to $1,500 are available to freshman and transfer students and are awarded once during the current academic year. Applicants to the UCIAA Endowed Scholarship are automatically considered for these additional opportunities.
Application Process
The UC Irvine Alumni Association Endowed Scholarship is offered by invitation only. Admitted undergraduate students who have submitted a Statement of Intent to Register and meet eligibility criteria will be invited to apply. Invitations are sent electronically using the email address provided on the UC Irvine admission application.
Eligibility Requirements
  • Freshmen must have a minimum unweighted GPA of 3.65.
  • Transfer students must have a minimum unweighted college GPA of 3.65 and the equivalent of 90 or more transferable quarter units.
Application Instructions

Applicants must follow all directions carefully and submit a complete application. All materials must be submitted on standard 8.5” by 11” paper. Applications must be single‑sided and unstapled. A final transcript is required; unofficial transcripts are acceptable if the applicant’s name appears in print. Applications cannot be amended after submission, and late or incomplete applications will not be considered. No phone calls please.

The deadline has passed for 2026 applications.

Award Notification
Award notifications are released in early September.
Selection Process

Alumni volunteers serving on UC Irvine Alumni Association scholarship selection committees review applications and essays, convene to determine finalists and notify recipients. Annual renewal is dependent upon review of academic performance. Applicants do not need to be affiliated with a UC Irvine alumnus to apply.
